Liberty Signed Champlevé Enamel Post Earrings Retro Art Deco Vintage Jewelry
These fabulous champlevé enamel earrings have a geometric, Art Deco design using red and black enamel (in some lights the black enamel looks dark green). They have a 1" diameter, and are marked "LIBERTY."
Liberty London was founded in 1875 by Arthur Lasenby Liberty, and was for over a century an iconic institution of the London scene. These earrings are probably from the 1950s or 1960s, because at that time the store was using Art Deco themes. The store was known for promoting new designers that did handcrafted work, primarily in fabric but also jewelry and accessories.
Close examination shows some minor age-related wear to the plating, but one has to use a loupe to see it.
They will be shipped in a gift box.
